Your cells run on ATP. When that process breaks down, you produce less energy and feel it as exhaustion that doesn't go away even after you try to sleep it off.

Oxygen gets to tissue that's been cut off.

The body has a hard ceiling on how much oxygen blood can carry under normal conditions. Almost all of it travels bound to red blood cells — and if circulation is compromised, it doesn't reach the tissue that needs it most. Pressurized oxygen dissolves directly into blood plasma instead, bypassing that ceiling and raising tissue oxygen levels up to twenty times above normal. Injured tissue that hasn't been healing — because it hasn't had enough oxygen to heal — starts to.

The inflammatory signal gets turned down.

Inflammation is supposed to be temporary. For most people dealing with chronic pain, stiffness, or slow recovery, it isn't — the signal never fully switches off. That persistent low-grade inflammation is driven by a specific molecular switch called NF-κB. High-oxygen environments suppress it, reducing the proteins that sustain the inflammatory response and shifting immune cells from attack mode to repair mode. This isn't anti-inflammatory in the way a pill is. It works at the level of the signal itself.

Oxidative damage to your cells is neutralized.

Your cells produce unstable molecules called free radicals as a byproduct of normal metabolism. In small amounts, they're useful. When they accumulate — due to aging, stress, or poor recovery — they damage DNA, cell membranes, and mitochondria. This is oxidative stress, and it's one of the primary drivers of biological aging. Molecular hydrogen neutralizes the most destructive free radicals without disrupting the ones your body needs. It's also small enough to reach inside mitochondria, where most of the damage originates. Nothing else does both.
